St. James Nurse Alumni Scholarship Fund
The St James School of Nursing Alumni has recently given a gift to the St James Healthcare Foundation in response to the nationwide nursing shortage. The St James Nursing Alumni Scholarship Fund provides recognition and financial support to student nurses who have shown a commitment to further their education and wish to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Completion Degree at Montana Tech of the University of Montana.
The St James Nursing Alumni Scholarship Fund was established by the Graduates of St James School of Nursing at its Centennial Celebration in 2006. The St James School of Nursing was established in 1906 and prepared hundreds of nursing students throughout Montana for a career in nursing through its last graduating class of 1970. The Alumni would like to preserve the memory of the St James School of Nursing by establishing the Scholarship Fund.
Eligibility Requirements
For nursing students to be eligible for this scholarship, they must meet the following requirements:
- Student must be a U.S. citizen.
- Student shall have completed two (2) years of study and received an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Degree from Montana Tech of the University of Montana.
- Student shall be accepted into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Completion Degree program at Montana Tech of the University of Montana.
Continued Support of the St James Nurses Alumni Fund
The St. James Nurses Alumni and the St James Healthcare Foundation would like to grow this fund so additional scholarship funds are available to students who are eligible. Both the Alumni and the Foundation encourage your contributions into this fund. Contribution can be made in the following ways:
- Direct contributions to the St James Healthcare Foundation with the gift used for the St James Nurses Alumni Fund.
- Memorials and Honorariums with gift used for the St James Nurses Alumni Fund.
- Planned Giving opportunities naming St James Healthcare Foundation as the beneficiary of the gift with the proceeds to be used for the St James Nurses Alumni Fund.
Application Information
- Scholarship funds are available for the fall semester annually.
- Application deadline is May 1.
- Applications are available by calling the St James Healthcare Foundation Office at (406) 782-5640.
